About Us

Hello, my name is Mike Cox, owner and founder of Bodock Lures.  Our manufacturing operation is just beginning, with the launching of our unique and exclusive finesse jig, “The Jig-a-lo”.  Our goal at Bodock Lures is to produce a very high quality, tournament grade line of tackle.  I have enjoyed the outdoors and fishing for 45 years.  Twenty eight of those years spent fishing in Tennessee and Alabama.  In my younger days, about the age of six, my father taught me the art of fly casting in our back yard.   After much practice I began fly fishing for Bass and Blue Gill, with my Father and Buddies, on the many great streams and lakes of both southern and northern Michigan.  At seven, I received a fly tying kit that I convinced my father to order from the back pages of his Field and Stream magazine, and the love began.  I hand made all my flies, poppers and streamers.  I knew then, someday I would be making tackle for others.  Now, Bodock Lures is my second job, after putting my day in at a Tennessee Auto manufacturing plant as a quality assurance test driver.  We at Bodock Lures are very excited about the many fine products that are yet to come for the serious Sport Fisherman and Tournament Angler.
